The Evil Presence

Image
Bismillaah Ever get those times when your sleeping and then all of a sudden you can't move? Like there's this force feild on your body that holds you in place? You wanna get out and wake up but your being pulled back in such a strong way, like your sucked back in.  Or ever get those times when your praying and you see a black shadow in the corner of your eyes and it freaks you out, but you got keep praying. And you wanna look but you can't and your just scared to death. Or your just chillin and then some evil suggestion comes in your mind, telling you to do something evil, and your thinking, "What, where did that come from?" All of these are from the shayateen.  Shayateen are the jinn and men who have taken a distant path from Allah. They are rebellious and the most mischievous of creatures. This is their name because they are far away, remote from Allah's Mercy. Not all Jinn and men are shayateen. The Jinn are just like humans, they are a  race.

Al-Fawaa'id: Ibn Qayyim

Bismillaah Al-Fawaa'id: Ibn Qayyim Wise Words (May Allah have mercy on him) The hearts of man can be divided into two kinds, the first of which is the heart of those who incline to the Beneficent, which is the source of brightness, life, happiness, pleasure, delight and blessings.  The second one is the throne of the devil where narrowness, darkness, death,  sorrow, distress and grief are settled therein. This heart is obsessed by sorrow  for the past, and grief and distress for the present.ween him and Allah and  another one between him and people. Whoever tore this veil between him  and Allah, Allah will tear the veil between him and people." "The servant has a veil between him and Allah and another  one between him and people. Whoever tore this veil between  him and Allah, Allah will tear the veil between him and people." "The servant has a Lord that he will stand in front of and a house that he will live in,  so

Spiritual Life

Bismillaah    Its amazing how words can affect us and especially when it comes from the heart and from sincerity, the results are astronomical. You can tell when someone speaks from the heart, because the words they speak no matter how small really affect you. They leave a mark on you, they change you. One can say they inspire you, to want to reach the highest of levels.   The spirit one shows in the way they speak plays a role in whether they'll influence people or not. We all love to see enthusiasm from others, its a sign of life in their hearts. Spiritual Life. And we all want that. Either to have life within us, and if not we'll gravitate to the person who has such radiance. And its those things you cannot miss. But what really determines whether others will be effected is the condition of our hearts.   The conditions of ones hearts reflects in a person's face. Im not kidding. You can tell if someone prayed fajr or not just by looking at their face. You can tell if

The Desire to fill

Bismillaah Inside us is a vessel that has to be filled. It cannot remain empty. We seek to have it filled with the love of something. And it can be only one thing. It will attach itself to anything. It needs to love. Something, anything, but what will we allow it to love? This will be the basis of all our actions. The reason why we worked so hard. To have its pleasure.   This vessel is our heart. There are times when we would fill it with anything to feel complete, the emptiness would have killed us. We needed to feel a purpose in this life, someone to love, someone to work hard for, someone to appreciate us. Its the mission of our lives.    But no matter what we fill it with, if its not the right thing we will never be truly satisfied. Never. There's the sleepless nights. The worrying. "What if this is taken from me, then what? what if this happens?" Suspicion over takes our minds. There's no contentment. Our love for whatever it is becomes our obsession. And

The Lunar Nights

Image
Bismillaah      There's three days in every month different from the rest. The sleep you get in them are different. The way people act is different. They way you act is different. These three days have nights of impeccable beauty. The moon is full and bright, luminous, lighting up its surroundings. The sky looks serene, peaceful. But far from what inner turmoil we suffer. You'll ask yourself, "whats wrong with me?" Did I miss my prayers or do them wrong? Why do I feel so agitated and unsatisfied? You find you cant sit still, you need to get and go. You chew your nails, feeling stressed. The mind are preoccupied. Nothing can calm you down. The Nafs is on fire. Unleashed. You lose patience over the simplest thing. Tick. And your off. Raw emotion will not pass you. Overly sensitive and easily annoyed, you better hide before you find yourself in conflict.       Why is this happening? Because these are the lunar days of the month. Its a natural phenomenon that happens

Bismillaah Aayatul Kursi Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. (Chapter 2, verse 255)

Dua of Zakariyyah (AS)

Image
Bismillaah Allah says, He said, "My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy. And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]."

Reflecting on Water

Image
Bismillaah Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen Water is something interesting to think about, and looking at it, one can learn many things. Ever see how when you want to pour water into any container it will fit that container? It can be a triangle container, a circle container, a rectangular container, or any shape out there. . It can fit into the largest container and it can fit in to the most narrow container.  It will manage to fit into it any circumstance we put it into. And it'll find no problem. Can you imagine trying to pour water into a container but it tells you, "No. I dont want to fit into it, Bring me another container?" Never. It being water, it will be subservient to us. If we want it there and it will adjust accordingly. What we learn from this?   The way water can adjust itself to suit any circumstance, we should also adjust ourselves in the same way in our lives to the best of our abilities. Things come up all the time. One day your short of cas

The Virtue of Wudu'

Bismillaah Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "Shall I not tell you something by which Allah effaces the sins and elevates ranks (in Jannah)?'' The Companions said; "Certainly, O Messenger of Allah.'' He (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "Performing the Wudu' thoroughly in spite of difficult circumstances.... and that is Ar-Ribat, and that is Ar-Ribat.'' (Muslim) Commentary:   Hardship and unpleasantness here stand for the uneasiness that one feels while performing Wudu' in severe cold. Ar-Ribat  means watching the frontiers or battlefront to check the invasion of the enemy. To wait for the next Salat after offering a Salat is regarded as Ribat for the reason that by so doing, a person who is particular in offering Salat keeps himself constantly engaged in the obedience and worship of Allah to keep Satan away from him. My personal experience wit

The Joys of Women

Image
Bismillaah  "Beautified for mankind is love of the joys (that come) from women and offspring; and stored-up heaps of gold and silver, and horses branded (with their mark), and cattle and land. That is comfort of the life of the world. Allah! With Him is a more excellent abode." ( Chapter 3 verse 14) Sometimes women are oblivious to what extent they can affect a man. Totally oblivious. Some of us  don't  know what is going on inside  their  minds when we speak and dress in a certain way. But in reality they have weakness for women. And its hidden. Lets see what  Psychology  today has to say about  their  survey conducted, asking "What men love about Women" “Phew. I am not sure if there is enough space here to list everything.” “What we like: your gentleness, your warmth. “Women are closer to emotions, and I find that women represent  beauty  that you just cannot find anywhere else in the world.” “I can talk to my female friends and

Jumu'ah Khutbah Reflections

Image
Bismillaah “Do not feel lonely on the road of righteousness Because of  the fewness of the walkers on it.“ - Ali (ra)   Its seems that when we choose to do something Allah loves, the whole world turns on us. We are all of a sudden against the tide, forcing ourselves to move forward instead of letting ourselves be dragged back down. And its a challenge. The people will go against you. Not necessarily you, but what your trying to aim for.   Most of us value monetary wealth. Thats what its about. How much you can make. And if your making mad dollars then there happy with you, smiling, they have all this hope for you. But when you strive for something that wont necessarily bring the dollars they become unhappy with you, dissatisfied. You see when you had money and alot of it, they were happy out the hope that they might benefit from you. That they may share in this goodness. It was all about them the whole time,"what do I get out of this?" But when it seems they are not

Removing the Barriers

Image
Bismillaah   From listening to a lectures discussing misconceptions I have learned that the barriers we put between ourselves and that of which we don't know in order to protect ourselves has only weakened us. We have lost the ability to think. We would rather regurgitate what the people tell us about this group of people and that group of people. When sometimes what we spread is lies. Out of fear we spread misconception. Shut these people out, look down upon these people. Oppose these people. Out of ignorance. How is that we believe we are the only guided people and everyone else is astray. What has made us think  like this. What? Do we know the secrets of the unseen and seen? Then how can we claim that whoever is not upon our way is lost. We have no right. Nobody knows if they are the ones guided.  if they we did know we are guided why would we spend time praying everyday "Guide us to the straight path?"    The straight path is not the ends. Its the means to reach Al

Using Intellect

An Interesting Conversation between Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (ra) & Abu Shakir Imam Jafar as-Sadiq asks, "Can you see inside your own body?" Replied Abu Shakir: "No, I cannot." Imam Jafar as-Sadiq said: "If you could have seen what is inside you, you would not have said that you do not believe in Allah, who cannot be seen." Abu Shakir asked: "What is the relationship between seeing within one's own body and the existence of your unseen Allah?" Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (A. S.) replied: "You have said just now that a thing, which cannot be seen, touched, tasted or heard, does not exist." Abu Shakir said: "Yes, I have said that and I believe it is true." afar as-Sadiq asked: "Do you hear the sound of the movement of blood in your body?" Said Abu Shakir: "No, I do not. But does blood move in the body? Jafar as-Sadiq (A. S.) said: "Yes, it does. It makes a full circuit of your body. If
