Dear Brothers and Sisters

On Sunday April 6 there is a very special event and fundraising dinner for Muslim Kids TV w Shk Navaid Aziz - (AlMaghrib Scholar and Imam at IISC in Calgary). Muslim Kids TV is a project to provide our children a halal TV and computer game alternative. This is an extremely worthwhile and much needed resource in our community. It fills in a large gap in entertainment and educational products for our children.

The event is at 5:30 pm, Sunday April 6 and is held at the Edmonton Islamic Academy banquet halal.

  Bismillaaah     Ive been inspired lately by a close friend. And she really encouraged me. Expectations

Its crazy how sometimes we look to others to make us feel happy. We expect them to cheer us up when were down, to bring flowers when were sick, to just stop by every once to say hello. In the essence of it all, we have unrealistic expectations. You can find this in family relationships, among friends, besties, any kind of relationship, you name it. And this unrealistic expectation can ruin things. You could have an amazing relationship with someone. But then that moment comes when you expected them to be there for you. You thought theyd show up, to visit you when you were were sick, to have your back when you were in trouble, to just say hey and greet you randomly when you were lonely. You expected. They never came through. And now you feel hurt. But honestly. Who should you be more upset with? The Virtue of Wudu'

Bismillaah Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "Shall I not tell you something by which Allah effaces the sins and elevates ranks (in Jannah)?'' The Companions said; "Certainly, O Messenger of Allah.'' He (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "Performing the Wudu' thoroughly in spite of difficult circumstances.... and that is Ar-Ribat, and that is Ar-Ribat.'' (Muslim) Commentary:   Hardship and unpleasantness here stand for the uneasiness that one feels while performing Wudu' in severe cold. Ar-Ribat  means watching the frontiers or battlefront to check the invasion of the enemy.
